چکیده

The Tibetan Plateau is known as the core area of third pole Earth and a key for global climate change research. This study uses Zabuye Salt Lake travertine dam research object U–Th dating chronological framework proposes that carbon oxygen isotopes can be used precipitation index through analysis hydrogen spring water, petrology, mineralogy, travertine. records over last 800 years show dry condition in 1191–1374 AD (Medieval Warm Period), humid 1374–1884 (Little Ice Age), 1884–1982 (Current Warn indicating warm–dry/cold–moist pattern, which consistent with from many places on Plateau. We preliminarily point out record evolution paleoprecipitation (paleomonsoon) at least decadal–centennial scale. Indian summer monsoon has been main factor influencing past years, evapotranspiration intensity caused by temperature driven solar radiation also an important affecting dry–moist change.

The Response of Lake Variations to Climate Change in Tibetan Plateau in Last 40 Years

The Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is the largest lake area in China, with a total area of existing lakes of 36,900 km2, accounting for 49.5% of the total lake area of China The expansion and shrinkage of lakes in the Tibetan Plateau play critical roles in the water cycle and ecological and environment systems of the Plateau. In this paper, bases on the topographic map in 1970s, and the MASS and TM/ETM ...

Seasonal spatial heterogeneity of warming rates on the Tibetan Plateau over the past 30 years

Based on temperature data from 79 meteorological stations, we estimate the warming rate by season on the Tibetan Plateau (TP) during 1984-2013. The warming rate was spatially heterogeneous across seasons over the past 30 years. The northern TP (NTP) experienced more warming than the southern TP (STP) (divided near 33 °N) in all seasons. The greatest north-south difference in warming was 0.70 ± ...

Microbial response to salinity change in Lake Chaka, a hypersaline lake on Tibetan plateau.

Previous investigations of the salinity effects on the microbial community composition have largely been limited to dynamic estuaries and coastal solar salterns. In this study, the effects of salinity and mineralogy on microbial community composition was studied by using a 900-cm sediment core collected from a stable, inland hypersaline lake, Lake Chaka, on the Tibetan Plateau, north-western Ch...

Summer rainfall over the southwestern Tibetan Plateau controlled by deep convection over the Indian subcontinent.

Despite the importance of precipitation and moisture transport over the Tibetan Plateau for glacier mass balance, river runoff and local ecology, changes in these quantities remain highly uncertain and poorly understood. Here we use observational data and model simulations to explore the close relationship between summer rainfall variability over the southwestern Tibetan Plateau (SWTP) and that...
